I’m (calling/writing) to express my concern over the lack of firm political support in the ongoing pro-democracy revolution against the Islamic Republic of Iran. It’s very important to me that my representative firmly stand by the people who are calling to gain freedom by changing the regime in Iran and securing their basic human rights.

Iranian citizens are experiencing a brutal crackdown. Hundreds have been murdered and thousands arrested, tortured, or raped. This includes at least 60 children under the age of 17 who got killed in the last 3 months. As I speak many of the brave protestors are in the line to be hanged for simply demanding freedom and human rights and the executions continue.

To negotiate a deal with this regime is to not only give them another lifeline but to silence the voices of freedom fighters in Iran. This will only empower the regime to have stronger crackdowns and bloodshed.

I urge the SENATOR/REPRESENTATIVE to speak out on this issue, listen to the “true” voice of this revolution and support the people of Iran in their fight against the Islamic Republic regime.

As a constituent, I am urging you to take a prompt action and to speak about the police brutality against people in Iran. Iranian people have been chanting “Woman, Life, Freedom”. The protesters are not violent, they only seek freedom and equal rights for women. I urge you to use your position in the parliament to project the voice of Iranian people.

This is something that’s particularly important to me as I am an Iranian/British (woman). Living in a democratic country, this is all I dream of for my sisters in Iran.

I am asking you to take the following steps to address my concerns:  

·    Raise this issue in Parliament/Senate/Congress through a speech, and ask all the Reps/MPs to speak about the police brutality against Iranian people in Iran.

·   Challenge Iranian government officials on killing of the protesters despite their blatant claims of caring for human rights.

·    Speak up about the violation of human rights and women rights in Iran with your colleagues and raise awareness and encourage them to also speak about what is happening in Iran.

·    Attend the protests organized by the Iranian community in (the location and date) If there is a protest in your area

·     Talk about this issue in the media and issue a media release on the topic.

·     Support closing of Islamic Republic’s embassy’s and dismissal of its diplomatic staff.

In your response I would like you to outline the ways you intend to address this on my behalf. If you’re unable to address this personally, I would like to request that you escalate my letter to the relevant Minister or department.  

Please do keep me informed of the progress made.  I look forward to your prompt response.

- Fragen Sie die Regierung, warum sie die iranische Regierung nicht wegen der jüngsten Tötung von Demonstrant*innen und dem Tod von Mahsa Amini während ihrer Inhaftierung zur Rede gestellt hat, da der Präsident Ebrahim Raisi vor einigen Tagen an der UN-Generalversammlung in New York teilnahm.

- Sprechen Sie mit Ihren Kolleginnen und Kollegen über die Verletzung der Menschenrechten und der Rechte der Frauen im Iran, machen Sie sie darauf aufmerksam und ermutigen Sie sie, ebenfalls  die Geschehnisse im Iran zu thematisieren.

- Nehmen Sie an den Protesten teil, die von der iranischen Gemeinschaft an vielen Orten organisiert werden, falls es in Ihrer Gegend einen Protest gibt.

- Sprechen Sie über dieses Thema in den Medien  und veröffentlichen Sie eine Pressemitteilung zu diesem Thema.

It is extremely important that the free American press covers the situation in Iran with greater coverage and shows a clear picture of what’s going on in Iran and the true nature of the Islamic Republic regime to the world. The U.S administration is considering reviving the JCPOA nuclear deal and paying billions of dollars in frozen assets to the Islamic Republic regime with the assumption of freeing forgein political hostages in Iran. Such actions will only embolden the regime and result in more death and terror for the Iranian people. It’s the free press’s responsibility to raise awareness and expose the lies and deceit of the pro-regime propaganda, so that the American public could push for decisive and assertive action from the administration in support of the Iranian fight for freedom.
